ABOUT Lauren

I am an artist and educator who enjoys living in the western mountains of Maine. The artwork I create is greatly influenced by time spent outdoors. I consider myself a keen observer of the natural world and someone who likes to be in beautiful places. I recently have been spending time in Grand Teton National Park and the woods, mountains, and stream beds in Maine.

Education:
My education comes from experiences both in the classroom and out. I have been a working artist and art educator for over 30 years. Much of the work I create is crafted at the forge; metal is a particular favorite.
I earned my BA in Studio Art from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and I have attended numerous workshops at Craft Institutions around the country including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Penland Craft School.
